Sage Essential Oil

Sage Essential Oil: Salvia Officinalis

This oil has a herby and earthy aroma. It is very useful in cleansing the air and supporting health when fighting illness. It can also be used with a carrier oil as a massage oil as it has been shown to ease aching muscles and joints. Sage is antibacterial so is a useful addition to face cleansers or toners, although the amount used would be limited.

The use of sage dates back to ancient civilisations and it has been particularly used for cleansing and purifying purposes as well as being believed to be quite a cure all and spiritual support at different times in history. It is perhaps not unrelated that wise individuals have been referred to as a sage.

It has developed with popular use into a well known culinary herb that often graces gardens even if it most typically rolled out with stuffing for Christmas.

This oil is believed to help calm nervous states, grief and to clarify memory.

Sage Essential Oil is very restricted in the UK/EU in skin care and other cosmetic products. Care should be taken if using and advice sought from a qualified professional.
