Rosemary Essential Oil is a lovely clean fresh, herb fragrance, perfect for use in shampoo and soaps among other things.

This oil is obtained from the leaves and flowers of the plant. It has a strong refreshing and clean scent. It is best known for its stimulating properties aiding mental clarity, helping focus, improving circulation along with its anti-inflammatory effects.  Significant research has been done on the ability of this oil to encourage hair growth thus making it particularly suitable for hair preparations.

Rosemary has been an ingredient for culinary, medicinal and spiritual rites since the dawn of time. It has been evident in Egyptian tombs. Rosemary has been used to ward off evil spirits. It was often burnt to cleanse the air in hospitals and to try and prevent bubonic plague infection. It is, today, a common plant to be found in cottage and herb gardens where rubbing the leaves to release the aroma is almost irresistible.

In skin care, it also has recognised skin toning, conditioning and anti-oxidant properties. Rosemary oil is an astringent, is antiseptic and also antifungal.

Try blending with Peppermint, basil, lavender, citrus oils and florals.

Never ingest or apply undiluted essential oils to the skin.
