Coconut Oil Solid Refined: Cocos Nucifera.
Refuned coconut oil, particularly in its solid form at 76°F (24°C), is a versatile and popular ingredient in bath and body care. This form of coconut oil is solid at room temperature, giving it a rich, luxurious texture that melts upon contact with the skin, providing numerous benefits.
Moisturising:
Coconut oil is rich in fatty acids, such as lauric acid, which help to lock in moisture and prevent dryness. It forms a protective barrier on the skin, making it an excellent choice for combating rough patches, dry skin, or eczema.
Antioxidant Properties:
It is packed with antioxidants like Vitamin E, which help to nourish and protect the skin from environmental factors.
Gentle on Skin:
Coconut oil is naturally gentle and non-irritating, making it suitable for even sensitive skin types. It can help soothe irritated skin, reduce redness, and calm inflammation.
Antibacterial and Antifungal:
Due to its antimicrobial properties, coconut oil can aid in preventing acne, rashes, or other skin infections. It can help cleanse the skin and promote a healthy skin microbiome.
Rich Texture:
The solid coconut oil offers a thicker, more luxurious consistency, which is ideal for massages, body butters, and other products where a rich, emollient texture is desired.
Uses include:
Moisturising Body Butter:
Coconut oil is an excellent base for DIY body butters.
Lip Balms and Scrubs:

Massage Oil:

Hand and Foot Cream:
Coconut oil is perfect for treating rough hands and feet. Its emollient properties will deeply hydrate and soften, giving hands and feet a pampered feel.
Shaving Cream:
You can also use solid coconut oil as a natural alternative to shaving cream. It helps to moisturise while creating a smooth surface for shaving, reducing irritation and dryness.
Hair Treatment:
Coconut oil can also be used as a hair mask for deep hydration and a healthy shine.
Storage Tips:
Since the coconut oil solidifies at room temperature (76°F or below), it’s important to store it in a cool, dry place, even the fridge. In warmer climates, you might notice the oil liquefy, but it will still retain its moisturising properties.
