SLSA – Sodium Lauryl Sulphoacetate

SLSA – Sodium Lauryl Sulphoacetate is an extremely mild and safe skin friendly powdered surfactant.

SLSA is lovely when added to bath bombs or bubble bars. It combines easily with ingredients and  it creates a silky, creamy lather mild enough to use on both skin and hair. It has a larger molecule size than some surfactants therefore is less likely to be an irritant to skin.

In bath bombs this surfactant has been shown to slightly slow down the reaction of the bicarbonate of soda and the citric acid.  This is sufficient to show the bath art when colours are added to bath bombs. We have added this surfactant to our bath bomb Flexi  assessment for this very reason.

Can be added to bubble bath, bath powder, foaming salts and scrubs, as well as incorporated into shower bombs, shampoo etc.

Derived from coconut and palm oils. This surfactant comes as a white powder. It is very fine and can become airborne and irritate the airways so breathing apparatus should be worn.
