Citric Acid Anhydrous Fine

This anhydrous (without water)  citric acid is another must for bath bomb and fizzy bath powder making. This weak acid reacts with bicarbonate of soda and gives off carbon dioxide which is what makes all the bubbles.

Citric Acid Anhydrous Fine comes as a white small granule with no discernible odour. Also used in bath salts and milks with bicarbonate of soda to add ‘fizz’.

Citric acid is also used when the PH of a product needs adjusting and correcting. This effect also often enhances the stability of products as well as prolongs shelf life.  Correcting the PH also makes for a more pleasant product to use, too acid or too alkaline can irritate skin.

Citric acid is aften used in hair products where it again assist’s with PH. This in turn helps prevent frizz and improves the hairs appearance.

As an anti-oxidant this is often used in formulations aimed at more mature skin where it can help exfoliate removing dead skin cells and dirt giving skin a softer, fresher and more invigorated feel.

Can also be used in household cleaning.
