Buttermilk Powder

Buttermilk powder is extremely high in naturally occurring milk proteins and lactic acid.  In skincare these are known to brighten the skin and add an overall smoothing effect.

There is a higher proportion of lactic acid in buttermilk powder than in any other milk powder, so it’s not surprising it is used in so many products.

Due to this lactic acid, buttermilk powder has been shown to help fade dark spots or blemishes on the skin. The lactic acid give the powder an astringent property which also helps to deeply cleanse and brighten skin.

This powder is beautifully moisturising and really soothing and can be successfully added to many cosmetic products offering a seeming level of luxury. For example, soaps become really creamy once buttermilk is added.  Bath bombs can leave out the surfactant element as buttermilk gives bath water a silky feel and a level of bubbles.  In fact we are so impressed with this powder we have added it to our bath bomb Flexi

To reconstitute: 1 part powder to 4 parts hot water. Whisk and strain.

Our buttermilk powder is food grade but is not stored as such.

This is not a vegan product but it has not been tested on animals.
