Oils and butters used during soap making all have differing qualities and therefore impart different characteristics to the finished product.
A good quality soap will use a combination of butters and oils in balanced proportions.
Look for oils and butters high in the following acids to add these qualities to your soaps:
Lauric and Myristic Acids: Hard and Cleansing with Fluffy Bubbles (Coconut, Palm, Rice Bran)
Linoleic, Linolenic and Oleic Acids: Conditioning (Sunflower, Olive, Sweet Almond, Apricot kernal, Avocado, Neem, Shea, Rice Bran, Palm, Cocoa, Sunflower, Hemp, Coconut, Castor Oil)
Palmitic and Stearic Acids: Hard Bar with Creamy Bubbles (Palm, Cocoa, Rice Bran, Avocada, Neem, Olive, Coconut, Sweet Almond, Sunflower, Apricot Kernal, Hemp, Shea)
Ricinoleic Acid: Fluffy with Creamy Bubbles (Castor Oil)
